Dr. Castelli delivered the baby girls of two patients that he delivered in the first years of his practice, both on the same day. Pictured here are the three generations of these families.

Drs. Castelli and Hirshman are honored and blessed to have cared for and delivered seven of the eight Bryn Mawr Labor and Delivery nurses in 2018. All deliveries were between April and October. And, more to come in 2019!
Philly’s ABC honors the nurses and docs
Philly’s ABC channel 6 aired the story of the Maternity nurses that delivered their babies in 2018. Seven of the eight nurses are patients of Women’s Health Care Specialists.
About Our Practice
Women’s Health Care Specialists, a division of Axia Women’s Health, is an obstetrics and gynecology specialty practice caring for women of all ages, from adolescent young women through the menopausal years. The caregivers have been delivering care to patients of Montgomery, Chester and Delaware counties for 50 years. Patients are seen in their two office locations in King of Prussia and Bryn Mawr. The two doctors and nurse practitioner strive to give individualized, personal care to all their patients.

Joseph Castelli, DO
Dr. Castelli has been a partner of Women’s Health Care Specialists since 1988. He is an experience obstetrician and gynecologist having delivered more than 6,000 babies and cared for thousands of women in the area. He is an expert surgeon in traditional and minimally invasive technique.
Philip Hirshman, MD
Dr. Hirshman has been with Women’s Health Care Specialists since 2006. Originally from the area, he practiced his Ob/Gyn specialty in Texas after completing his residency, then moved back to the area with his family to practice with WHCS. He is an experienced physician in both obstetrics and gynecology.
Laura Horan, CRNP
Laura Horan is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner specializing in women’s health. She joined Women’s Health Care Specialists in 2001. Prior to that she was a labor and delivery nurse as a captain in the United States Air Force and then at Bryn Mawr Hospital. She especially enjoys caring for women during their pregnancies, helping women with contraceptive care and perimenopausal issues.
